Hervé Villemade Les Ardilles 2021 (750ml) Washington Yakima Valley Pinot Gris marking a second straight yearOur friend Herv Villemade made another gorgeous "Les Ardilles" in 2019. Made from 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Gamay grown on sandy clay with silex over limestone in Cheverny with yields of about 25 hl ha. There was a 20 day maceration with light extraction followed by aging in old barrels, with no added SO2 during vinificaton. The wine is particularly ripe, elegant and intriquing in the excellent 2019 vintage. The nose is a bit closed, with deep, brambly
