1875 ROBERT LOWRY. Rare Carte de Visite of "Nothing but the Blood" Hymn Composer. Spurgeon he assumed the Presidency ofA very scarce original carte de visite of minister and hymnist, Robert Lowry [1826 1899]. One of the most influential hymnists of the 19th century, he penned Shall We Gather at the River, How Can I Keep from Singing, and introduced his most influential hymn, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus at a camp meeting in 1876. The carte de visite is inscribed on the rear, though we are uncertain whether it is his hand. We have thus far not been able to trace an
