The backing is a gold tone on tone cotton. It has wide blue satin binding around all edges. The binding is zig zag stitched all the way around. This prevents little fingers from trying to undo the binding. My children had these when they were young and they are wonderful for children for security blankets. They are small (approximately 18 1 2" x 19 1 2") and easy
